BJJ Events South Africa is the creation of Kurdt George, head of the largest and most accomplished Jiu-Jitsu academy on the African continent. A renowned international instructor, competitor and blackbelt under Renzo Gracie and John Danaher, Kurdt is one of South Africa’s foremost ambassadors of the world’s fastest growing martial art. Our belief is that everyone should have the benefit of this great art, and an active competition circuit is the best way to foster this growth.

Hence, we’ve licensed the most elite international events, while creating our own locally. Annually, BJJ Events South Africa hosts up to 7 competitions. These have helped inspire the rapid growth of South Africa’s Jiu-Jitsu community, going from 4 Cape Town academies just 5 years ago, to over 20 today.
